US coupon use by age, income and business advertising

  • Approximately 11% of all US households use online coupons. This number is up 83% since 2005! As the stigma of using coupons has dropped, their use is up for the first time since 1992 as more people look for ways to save money.
  • 70% of all 18-24 yr olds use coupons. 25-34 yr olds, 78%. 35-44, 82%. 45-54, 79%. 55-64, 81%. And 78% of the 65 and over group use coupons.
  • As far as income is concerned, 89.2% (the highest of any group) of the $25,000-$50,000 (this is the average U.S. and Ohio income) income range use coupons.
